Due to the hot weather, if the car air conditioning is slightly lacking in cooling, it will feel very hot inside the car. Today we will talk about a phenomenon where the air conditioner produces hot air while producing cold air. Many car owners may have encountered this situation before. What's going on here?

       car air conditioner (1)

This may not necessarily be a malfunction of the air conditioning system, but there are two situations. One is that the car is equipped with zone air conditioning, which means that the air outlets on both sides of the air conditioning are controlled by separate temperature knobs, which can adjust the air outlet temperatures on both sides to meet the different temperature needs of different passengers. If one side's temperature is set low and the other side's temperature is set high, this situation will occur, with the wind coming out very cold on one side and not too cold on the other. This situation is not a malfunction, it is a normal function of the air conditioning. If this situation occurs in your car, first check if the air conditioning has this function and if there are temperature adjustment knobs on both sides. Don't think it's a malfunction and drive to the repair shop for nothing.

       car air conditioner (2)

If the car is not equipped with zone air conditioning and there is a situation of cooling while heating, it is a malfunction of the air conditioning system. This type of malfunction is caused by insufficient air conditioning cooling, usually with cool air coming out of the right air outlet and hot air coming out of the left air outlet. Due to insufficient air conditioning cooling, the evaporator box itself is not too cold, and the wind is not too cool after passing through. The right air outlet is relatively close to the evaporator box, so the wind can still feel cool when blown out. The leftmost air outlet is far from the evaporator box, and the wind needs to walk along a long air duct to blow out. When it is in the duct, it has already become hot, so the wind does not blow out cold. In this case, the air coming out of the rightmost air outlet cannot reach the normal temperature, so only the problem of insufficient air conditioning cooling needs to be repaired. The most common reason is due to insufficient refrigerant, which requires the addition of refrigerant, that is, fluorine, to solve the problem. There are also a few cars with compressor problems, although not completely damaged, the performance has greatly decreased, which can also lead to insufficient air conditioning cooling.

       car air conditioner (3)

Under normal circumstances, the temperature of the rightmost air outlet is also lower than that of the leftmost air outlet. This is also because the air duct is short, and it blows out before it gets hot inside the duct, which is a normal phenomenon. There is another situation, if you feel that the temperature is different on the left and right sides, you should also check the direction of the air outlet and whether it is fully open. If one side of the air outlet is closed or only slightly open, the air coming out does not feel as cool. So when it comes to feeling the issue of air conditioning's cooling and heating, it is necessary to first ensure that the air output is normal, and not compare it when the wind is strong and the wind is small.
