On highways, there is always a section of the road where interval speed measurement is used. Car owners who frequently run on highways will definitely encounter it, and interval speed measurement is now very common. When we arrive at the speed measurement area, there will be a clear sign indicating the starting point of the interval speed measurement, and then we will be informed of the length of the interval speed measurement. At the end point, there will also be a sign to remind us. So how does it measure speed? Is it impossible to exceed the speed limit within such a long distance?

       Speed measurement (1)

In fact, the principle of speed measurement is very simple. It calculates the time taken to drive this section of the road, and then calculates whether to exceed the speed limit. Interval speed measurement can only determine the average speed. As long as the average speed exceeds the maximum speed limit, it must be speeding. As long as the average speed does not exceed the maximum speed limit, it is considered that there is no speeding. How is it implemented? When a car passes through the starting point of the interval speed measurement, take a photo to record the time point. When passing through the endpoint, take a photo to record the time point, and calculate the time taken to travel this distance through two time points. This section of the road has a certain distance, a certain maximum speed limit, and a certain minimum time required. If the time taken by the car is less than the minimum time, it is judged as speeding. If the time used is greater than the minimum time, it is considered that there is no speeding.

       Speed measurement (2)

For example, the interval speed measurement length is 50km, and the maximum speed limit is 100km/h. If driving at the highest speed, the time taken should be 30 minutes, which is the minimum time because it is always determined by driving at the highest speed. If the time it takes for your car to travel this distance is less than 30 minutes, then it must have exceeded the speed limit. If it exceeds 30 minutes, there is no speeding. Even if you exceed the speed limit at a certain point in the middle, driving at a low speed in other places will make up for the time, and interval speed measurement cannot be monitored. So someone said, can we start by speeding, rest in the service area or other places in the middle, and then drive to the finish line. Of course, if there are no other speed measuring devices in between, it is indeed impossible to determine whether you are speeding. However, in the interval speed measurement section, most roads will also set some fixed point speed measurements to measure the speed passing through here at that time. If there is an overspeed, photos will be taken and recorded here to determine the overspeed. Therefore, the above driving methods are not advisable, and there are fixed speed measuring devices in the middle of the road to capture the footage at any time.

       Speed measurement (3)

We should not have a mentality of luck when driving. We should take advantage of the speed measurement device and drive slowly if there is a speed measurement. If there is no speed measurement, drive faster. When encountering interval speed measurement, it is best to stay alert and drive carefully, and never exceed the speed limit at any time. Because this must be the easiest place to exceed the speed limit, and everyone has told us that this is the speed measurement area, which is a key area for cracking down on speeding. Speeding is not simply a matter of deducting points and fines, but more importantly, it is a matter of driving safety. As the saying goes, nine out of ten accidents are faster. No matter where you are driving, you must comply with traffic regulations and not exceed the speed limit.
