Many cars come with built-in tire pressure monitoring, with a tire pressure sensor inside each tire. We can see the tire pressure values of four tires on the instrument panel, which are displayed through computer processing based on the signals transmitted by these four sensors. We all know that driving a car for a period of time requires four wheel rotation, which means reversing the wheels. It takes about 20000 kilometers to reverse. Someone asked, can cars with tire pressure sensors be equipped with reverse wheels? Why go to a small repair shop to do a reverse wheel, when the repair technician says they can't do it? Let's go somewhere else to do the reverse wheel.

TPMS (1)

It is possible to reverse the wheel, and the tire pressure sensor has no effect on the reverse wheel. As long as you relearn and match it, the tire pressure can be displayed normally. The small repair shop said it cannot reverse the wheel because it lacks equipment and cannot learn tire pressure. After reversing, the tire pressure display becomes incorrect. So if you want to reverse the wheel, you must go to a place where you can learn tire pressure. It's best not to reverse it yourself, or you can reverse it yourself and learn tire pressure. Below, I will talk about several issues with tire pressure sensors. The tire pressure sensors in the four wheels are completely identical, and they do not have a fixed position. It is not that this sensor can only be located on the left front wheel, and the other sensor can only be located on the right front wheel, resulting in the inability to reverse the wheels. The reason why identical sensors can correctly display tire pressure is because the sensor and computer module have learned to pair.

TPMS (2)

The tire pressure sensor communicates wirelessly with the computer module via Bluetooth, and the learning pairing process involves learning each wheel one by one in a fixed order. For example, starting from the left front wheel, the learning process is to make the computer module remember the position of the sensor. When learning the left front wheel, the computer remembers that this sensor is for the left front wheel, and the signal it transmits displays the tire pressure of the left front wheel on the instrument panel, learning one-to-one correspondence. If the wheel is reversed and not relearned, the computer will not know that you have reversed it. The signal from the sensor passing through the left front wheel will still display the left front tire pressure on the instrument panel. At this point, the wheel has already been reversed and it is no longer in the left front wheel. There will be an incorrect tire pressure display, indicating that the left front tire is under pressure but the result is a low right rear tire. If you relearn the matching and have the computer module re record the position of the sensor, it will display normally.

Therefore, whether reversing the wheel by oneself or in a small repair shop, it is possible, but tire pressure learning must be carried out afterwards, otherwise the tire pressure display position may be incorrect. Of course, it has no impact on other aspects and can be used normally without learning. Most cars require the use of a computer to learn tire pressure. A device is used to learn each wheel, which is equipped in 4S dealerships. If a small repair shop does not have it, it cannot be learned. There are also a few cars that do not require a computer for learning, and instead use the method of releasing air for each of the four wheels, which can be learned anywhere. In fact, it's not just about reversing the wheels that requires tire pressure learning. Sometimes, interference from external signals can also cause the tire pressure lights to light up. Even if the air pressure is normal, the tire pressure lights will always light up, which also requires tire pressure learning. If there is equipment, tire pressure learning is very simple and there is no advanced technology.
