You don't need to worry about frost on the windshield when parking in the garage, but you always encounter this problem when parking outdoors. You parked the car that night and the front windshield frosted the next morning. You must clear this layer of frost before driving, otherwise you will not be able to see the road at all because the driver's line of sight is completely blocked. This layer of frost is relatively hard, but it is not very thick, and it can be quite troublesome to clean without certain means. Here is an introduction to how to remove frost. There are several methods to refer to.

windshield frosts (1)

    1. Spray glass water on the windshield, and the frost will soften in a moment. At this point, use a towel or other scraper to scrape it off easily. After all the frost has softened, you can also use a rain brush to clean the windshield immediately. This is the fastest defrosting method, it can be done in a few minutes. When spraying glass water, be careful to lift both wiper blades and then operate the water spray lever to spray water. This way, the wiper will not brush on the glass, only the glass water will spray on the glass. If you don't lift it and spray water while brushing, the wiper blades will be damaged and the frost won't come off. If encountering severe weather conditions such as snow, rain, and frost, you can first lift the wiper when parking at night, so that the wiper blades will not freeze the next day. In addition to spraying glass water, deicing agents can also be sprayed. The principle is the same as spraying glass water. After spraying, the frost will melt on its own, but it can be sprayed more evenly and on a larger area. You can spray wherever you want.

2. Pouring water onto the windshield can also melt the frost, either cold or warm water can be poured, but not boiling water. If the water is too hot, it may break the windshield, so do not take risks for faster defrosting. The operation method is the same as spraying glass water. After pouring the water and waiting for a short time, the frost will start to melt, and then use other things to assist in wiping down. However, pouring water does not melt as quickly as using glass water, as the freezing point of glass water is very low and it does not freeze itself. If the ambient temperature is very low, the effect of pouring water may not be good. After pouring cold water and wiping it off, there may be a thin layer of ice on the glass.

3. Using tools such as snow shovels or plastic sheets to directly scrape is also a method that many people have used and is the easiest to think of. This method can also remove frost, but it is time-consuming because the frost is thin and slippery, making it less likely to be scraped off.

4. Use warm air to blow the glass and melt the frost. This method is the most energy-efficient and does not require manual action. Simply turn on the warm air and adjust it to the direction of blowing the glass. After the frost has basically melted, use a wiper to brush it clean. The disadvantage is that it takes too much time, as it must wait for the temperature of the antifreeze to rise before blowing out the warm air, which takes about ten minutes. With the warm air, it also needs to continue blowing for a period of time before the frost can melt. If there is a rush to work in the morning, this method cannot be used, and prolonged idling can also increase the fuel consumption of the vehicle.

There are probably four defrosting methods mentioned above, so what methods can be used to avoid frost formation? Don't you need to put in this effort if it doesn't frost? A better method is to cover the glass with a cloth, or buy a simple car cover that can only cover the glass, which is easy to install. The purpose is to prevent the glass from coming into contact with the outside air, and water vapor cannot fall onto the windshield. Without water vapor falling, of course, it will not condense into small droplets and frost. However, frost does not form every day, so there is no need to cover it every day. Frost usually forms on nights with a large temperature difference between day and night, high humidity, and no wind. Depending on the weather conditions, choose whether to cover the windshield with car clothing.
