Production and Sales of New Energy Vehicles in China in December 2022

According to the statistical data analysis of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in 2022, China's new energy vehicles continued to grow explosively and gradually entered a comprehensive market-oriented expansion period, ushering in a new stage of development and growth.

Although China’s production and sales of new energy vehicles were also affected by the epidemic situation and the high price of power battery raw materials, the central and local governments attached great importance to the development of new energy vehicles, and had issued a number of policies to promote the consumption of new energy vehicles in terms of taxes, subsidies, etc. At the same time, enterprises were also actively developing new energy vehicle products, and the supply chain resources were preferentially concentrated on new energy vehicles, China's overall production and sales of new energy vehicles exceeded expectations.

In December 2022, China's production and sales of new energy vehicles continued to maintain a high growth rate, reaching a new record high of 795,000 and 814,000, respectively, with a year-on-year increase of 51.8%.

In 2022, China's production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 7.058 million and 6.887 million, with a year-on-year increase of 96.9% and 93.4% respectively.

In December 2022, compared with that of November, the production and sales of the three major categories of new energy vehicles increased by different degrees, with fuel cell vehicles growing more significantly; compared with that of the same period 2021, the above three categories continued to grow.

In 2022, compared with that of the same period in 2021, the production and sales of pure electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles and fuel cell vehicles continued to maintain a rapid growth.
