Application
A brake shoe is the part of a braking system which carries the brake lining in the drum brakes used on automobiles, or the brake block in train brakes and bicycle brakes. A device that is put on a track to slow down railroad cars is also called brake shoe.
The brake shoe carries the brake lining, which is riveted or glued to the shoe. When the brake is applied, the shoe moves and presses the lining against the inside of the drum. The friction between lining and drum provides the braking effort. Energy is dissipated as heat.
The brake shoe is widely applied on axles of semi-trailers, full trailers, farm trailers, boat trailers and all trucks.

The braking effect of the vehicle brake system is ultimately determined by the brake shoes, so the quality of the brake shoes is very important to the braking effect. Brake shoe refers to the accessory that is pushed out by the action of the brake cam or push rod to suppress the brake drum and play a braking role. It is installed on the brake drum and is one of the key safety parts in the automobile brake system.

The brake shoe is the frictional part of the drum brake, which bears the thrust of the actuator, the normal force and tangential force of the brake drum, and the supporting reaction force, and should have appropriate stiffness.
