Application
Brake linings are the consumable surfaces in brake systems, such as drum brakes and disc brakes used in transport vehicles.
Brake linings are composed of a relatively soft but tough and heat-resistant material with a high coefficient of dynamic friction (and ideally an identical coefficient of static friction) typically mounted to a solid metal backing using high-temperature adhesives or rivets. The complete assembly (including lining and backing) is then often called a brake pad or brake shoe.
The brake shoe is widely applied on axles of semi-trailers, full trailers, farm trailers, boat trailers and all trucks.

The braking effect of the vehicle brake system is ultimately determined by the brake shoes, so the quality of the brake shoes is very important to the braking effect. There are two common types of brake shoes: one is used for discs The brake pads of the type brake, and the second is the brake shoes of the drum brake.
Brake shoe refers to the accessory that is pushed out by the action of the brake cam or push rod to suppress the brake drum and play a braking role. It is installed on the brake drum and is one of the key safety parts in the automobile brake system.
The shape of the brake shoes is like a half-moon shape. When the brake is stepped on, the two half-moon-shaped brake shoes are stretched out under the action of the brake wheel cylinder, supporting the brake shoes and rubbing against the inner wall of the brake drum to slow down or stop.
The brake shoe is the frictional part of the drum brake, which bears the thrust of the actuator, the normal force and tangential force of the brake drum, and the supporting reaction force, and should have appropriate stiffness. In addition to having the required strength and rigidity as a component, it should also have as high and stable friction coefficient as possible, as well as appropriate wear resistance, heat resistance, heat dissipation and heat capacity.
