Semi trailer ABS system refers to the anti－lock braking system, which is an additional device on the original vehicle braking system to control the stability of the vehicle during the braking process. The ABS system is mainly composed of wheel sensors, controllers and regulators. When braking, the ABS system mainly controls the wheel slip rate and wheel speed to achieve the control goal of vehicle stability.
The trailer braking is generally air braking, and the air source is from the tractor. From the figure below, the brake system of semi-trailer mainly consists of three parts: emergency relay valve, trailer ABS and air brake chamber.
A semi trailer ABS (Anti-lock braking system) is an electronic control system that monitors and controls the speed of the vehicle during braking. Its task is to prevent wheel locked caused by excessive braking force of the vehicle (especially on slippery roads), and ensure the driving stability, steering control of the vehicle and the best effect of braking coordination of the tractor and semi-trailer. At the same time, the available braking friction between the tire and the road surface and the optimization of the vehicle deceleration and braking distance are ensured. The ABS works through the conventional braking system, which can improve the active safety of the vehicle.
An anti-lock braking system (ABS) is widely applied to cars, motorcycles, trucks, skeletal trailers, lowbed trailers, flatbed trailers, dump trailers, car transport trailers, oil tank trailers, van trailers, full trailers, wood transport trailers, agricultrucal vehicles, etc.
