Production and sales situation of China's automotive industry in July 2023

According to statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in July, under the influence of a high base in the same period last year, combined with the traditional off-season of the car market, the pace of China's automobile production and sales slowed down, and the overall market performance was relatively flat, with a decline in both month-on-month and year-on-year.

In July 2023, China's automobile production and sales reached 2.401 million and 2.387 million units respectively, with a decrease of 6.2% and 9% month-on-month, and a decrease of 2.2% and 1.4% year-on-year.

From January to July 2023, China's automobile production and sales achieved 15.65 million and 15.626 million units respectively, with year-on-year growth of 7.4% and 7.9%, respectively. The cumulative growth rate of production and sales decreased by 1.9 percentage points compared to January to June.

In July 2023, China's production and sales of new energy vehicles completed 805,000 and 780,000 units respectively, with year-on-year growth of 30.6% and 31.6%, and a market share of 32.7%.

From January to July 2023, China's production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 4.591 million and 4.526 million, respectively, with year-on-year growth of 40% and 41.7%, and a market share of 29%.
