China's automobile export growth rate was 32% in December 2023

Cui Dongshu, Secretary General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, recently revealed that in December 2023, China's automobile exports reached 459,000 units, with an export growth rate of 32%, showing a sustained strong growth.

Overall, from January to December 2023, China's automobile exports reached 5.22 million units, with an export growth rate of 56%. In 2023, China's automobile exports reached $101.6 billion, with a growth rate of 69%. In 2023, the average export price of Chinese automobiles was 19,000 US dollars, a slight increase from 18,000 US dollars in 2022.

Cui Dongshu stated that new energy vehicles are the core growth point for high-quality growth of China's automobile exports. In 2020, China exported 224,000 new energy vehicles; In 2021, 590,000 new energy vehicles were exported; In 2022, a total of 1.12 million new energy vehicles were exported; In 2023, 1.73 million new energy vehicles were exported, a year-on-year increase of 55%. Among them, 1.68 million new energy passenger vehicles were exported in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 62%.

In 2023, the export situation of China's buses and special vehicles remained relatively stable, with a 69% increase in Chinese bus exports in December, showing a good trend.

From January to December 2023, China's truck exports reached 670,000 units, with a year-on-year increase of 19%. Compared to the sluggish domestic truck market in China, the recent export of various types of trucks has been good. Specifically, the growth of tractors in trucks is good, while the export of light trucks has declined. The export of light buses is relatively good, while the export of large and medium-sized buses is recovering.
