Production and Sales of China's Automobile Industry in December 2022

In 2022, despite the impact of many adverse factors such as frequent outbreaks of epidemic, structural shortage of chips, high prices of power battery raw materials, and local geopolitical conflicts, under the effective pull of a series of stable growth and consumption promotion policies such as halving the purchase tax, and with the joint efforts of enterprises in the whole industry, China's auto market has recovered and achieved positive growth under adverse circumstances, showing strong development resilience.

In December 2022, China's auto production and sales were 2.383 million and 2.556 million, with a month-on-month decrease of 0.3% and a month-on-month increase of 9.7% respectively, and with a year-on-year decrease of 18.2% and 8.4% respectively.

In 2022, China's auto production and sales were 27.021 million and 26.864 million, with a year-on-year increase of 3.4% and 2.1% respectively. Compared with the that of 2021, the growth rate of production was flat, and the growth rate of sales was 1.7 percentage points lower.

In December 2022, China's production and sales of passenger vehicles reached 2.125 million and 2.265 million, with a month-on-month decrease of 1.4% and a month-on-month increase of 9% respectively and with a year-on-year decrease of 16.1% and 6.7% respectively.
