Since 2009, China has been the world's largest automotive market, but it has lagged behind traditional automotive giants in terms of exports. In recent years, with the outbreak of new energy vehicles, China's automotive exports surpassed Germany in 2022, becoming the second largest in the world. This trend will continue in 2023.
The Securities Times quoted Cui Dongshu, the Secretary General of the Passenger Transport Association, as saying that the low base in the coming months will increase the promotion of exports, and the export of new energy vehicles is expected to increase significantly throughout the year.
In February, 79,000 new energy passenger vehicles were exported. With the support of the policy of resuming work and production under the epidemic, Chinese manufactured new energy product brands are increasingly going abroad, with continued improvement in overseas recognition and service network improvement, and the market prospects are promising.
From the perspective of independent export retail data monitoring in overseas markets, independent brands such as SAIC Motor have strong performance in Europe.
In addition to the beautiful performance of traditional export car companies, recent new power exports have also gradually started, and data from overseas markets have also begun to emerge.
Previously, according to data from the China Automobile Association, due to insufficient overseas supply and a significant increase in the export competitiveness of Chinese automobile enterprises, automobile exports exceeded 3 million units in 2022, reaching 3.111 million units, a year-on-year increase of 54.4%.
Analysts say that China's automobile exports are also approaching Japan, and it is likely to win the title of the world's largest automobile exporter in the next few years.
