China's Economic operation of automobile industry in January 2023

In January 2023, China's automobile production and sales were 1.594 million and 1.649 million , with a year on year decrease of 34.3% and 35% respectively. Among them, 425,000 and 408,000 new energy vehicles were produced and sold, with a year on year decrease of 6.9% and 6.3% respectively.

1、 China's auto sales fell by 35% year-on-year in January

In January, China's automobile production and sales were 1.594 million and 1.649 million , with a year on year decrease of 34.3% and 35% respectively.

（1） China's passenger vehicle sales in January fell 32.9% year-on-year

In January, China's production and sales of passenger vehicles were 1.397 million and 1.469 million , with a year on year decrease of  32.9% respectively.

（2） China's commercial vehicle sales in January fell by 47.7% year-on-year

In January, China's  production and sales of commercial vehicles were 197,000 and 180,000, with a year on year decrease of 43.1% and 47.7% respectively.

 2、 China's new energy vehicle sales in January fell by 6.3% year-on-year

In January, China's production and sales of new energy vehicles were 425,000 and 40,8000 , with a year on year decrease of 6.9% and 6.3% respectively; the sales of new energy vehicles accounted for 24.7% of the total sales of new vehicles.

3、 China's auto exports increased by 30.1% year-on-year in January

In January, China exported 301,000 complete vehicles, with a year on year increase of  30.1%. 83,000 new energy vehicles were exported, with a year on year increase of 48.2% .
